Everybody in the world, no matter what country you may be located, knowing some quick dinner recipes is certainly a must, especially if you are just living alone and working in an office at the same time. You wouldn’t want to always just buy take outs and call for food deliveries because they are both unhealthy and too expensive if you calculate all the accumulated amount in a week. Keep in mind that there are always some ingredients out there that are easy to cook because of their texture and features. Fish and veggies are the perfect example of this as they can easily get cooked even before you get to slip into something more comfortable.

Fish is usually easier to cook with soup but if you are not a fan of that kind of dish, you can always do something else with it. Just make sure that you have the proper ingredients immediately like olive oil, fish fillets, salt, pepper, onions, tomatoes and cheese. Just have 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a microwavable baking dish, put the ½ pound of fish fillets on it, sprinkle ¼ teaspoon of salt, 2 tablespoon of minced onions, and 1 whole tomato chopped and seeded, then cover it with a microwavable plastic wrap. Put it in the microwave for 2 and 1/2 to 3 minutes or at least until the fish flakes easily with a fork, turn the dish once during cooking. Sprinkle with cheese, if you have Colby and parmesan, put ½ cup of Colby and 2 tablespoon of grated parmesan on top. Recover and let the dish stand for 3-4 minutes before serving. It should give you a nice meal in 20 minutes or even less.

With veggies, stir fry is always reliable for any quick cooking. As long as you have onions, garlic and tomatoes, you can easily cook just about any vegetable that you have in your fridge. Just be sure that you have your favorite herbs and spices ready in your counters so you can easily have variation of flavors every time you would cook a vegetable meal. In case you are still feeling a bit lazy, you can always just wash them, put some of your favorite dressing, toss it in a bowl and you already got yourself a quick vegetable salad to enjoy for the night. You don’t need to eat too much at night anyway, especially if you are trying to lose weight.

We just moved to a new house and we are still trying to settle down, and if you actually look at what we have right now, everything is still a bit messy. My worry though, is the kitchen once that we already clean up. Unlike in my old apartment, there was already an installed rack for pots and other kitchenware, my friend told me that I should go for those enclume pot racks for sale that she was able to see in the internet the other day. She said when she saw those enclume potracks, she immediately thought of me because she knows that I would indeed have that particular problem. I really love cooking and it has got to be the hobby that I really love doing that is the reason why I have a lot of kitchenware in my possession. My friend told me the web site for the enclume pot rack that she found and I would buy some of them as soon as I get things finalize in all of my expenses for the house and moving. I just need to make sure that everything is fine first before I get any more into new expenditures.

I remember what my mom always told me when I was young, when I grow up and I get to live in my own house, never forget to have a stock of herbs and spices inside the kitchen because I would never know when I would need one. I would even recall our kitchen shelves having those little bottles of herbs and spices like basil leaves, pepper, curry powder, nutmeg, Spanish paprika, and a lot more.

I never really understood why my mom would want to have a lot of them, until I was able to learn how to cook. Those are basically one of those cooking tips that my mom told me that I have decided to obey and now, whenever I am not making graham based desserts, I always find myself making better tasting food because of the tip that I got from my mom that has proven to be really useful now.

From my last post, I mentioned something about pakbet rice. It was so delicious that I have forgotten about my south beach diet, though to my defense, it was actually a type of health food that I know a lot of vegetarians would definitely love to have. Now that I am back, I will have to make sure that I go back to my way of eating and see to it that I get my carbohydrate level down.

Cooking healthy food is really important if you want to keep yourself from any health complications that you may get from eating unnaturally balanced food. Moderation is the key to long life, which is the main reason why Japanese people have longevity. They always eat the right food and have regular exercise, which is something that most Americans don’t do… and we wonder why obesity is one of the biggest problems in the society, no pun intended.
